Renaissance is the transition period between the middle ages and modern history in Europe. It had these features.
Humanism was a very important feature as it concentrated on studying the history of men as opposed to middle ages interest in religious topics. Many people searched and acquired manuscripts of Greek texts that had not been utilized previously in the middle ages. Examples of such texts included ‘ the epics of Homer, the major surviving works of Athenian dramatists, the dialogues of Plato’..This advancement was facilitated by the invention of print.
Artistic development in paintings, music and literature has been a significant feature in the renaissance period as it was the period that marked the rise of artists especially those who developed new attitudes towards the human body and the newly developed portable paintings since they were portable and they could manage their own work. There were also new artistic techniques developed such as three-dimension and the use of light and shade in their paintings.
Architecture also developed as they could build homes from ancient sketches that they acquired through the study of previous lives of men such as Vitruvius a Roman engineer and famous architect whose writings helped advance the architecture industry.
Scientific and rational thinking spirit was born in Europe. This was inspired by the former writing of the Greeks and the Romans as opposed to the middle ages where rational thinking didn’t exist since people had absolute belief in religion and the power of supreme .Leonardo da Vinci was one of those scholars that propagated this ideal.
