Most Interesting Aspects of Topic Readings and View on Disease and Healing Analysis
The debates on human nature and ethics, as well as the evaluation of illness and recovery, strike me as the most fascinating aspects of the subject readings. While ethical research is interested in the normative topic of how people should behave, the investigation into the essence of humanity considers the ontological aspect of the human being (Resnik, 2020). Nonbelievers believe morality developed through human activity. Christians, on the other hand, think that morality is essential and that God created everyone. I find this viewpoint fascinating since it adds a new level of ethical understanding. Regarding the literature's discussion of illness and recovery, it is important to consider both a person's physical and psychological aspects when deciding how best to treat a condition. Christians accept the idea that mankind fell, making our bodies susceptible to diseases, the ageing process, and eventually, death (Harrad et al., 2019). It is commonly accepted that Jesus' execution served as an act of atonement for humanity's sins, and His subsequent resurrection serves as a moving illustration of the promise of eternal life. This gives us the courage and conviction to face any obstacles. Thus, the value of spiritual guidance cannot be understated when thinking about how to treat a condition since it has the capacity to provide comfort and peace in tough times.
While providing medical treatment, nurses must respect the patients' spiritual beliefs. For one to reach a full level of wellbeing, the incorporeal and physical selves must be integrated (Harrad et al., 2019). Numerous academic studies have shown the significance of spirituality in assisting the healing process. Therefore, in order to provide the best possible treatment and a successful recovery, healthcare professionals must demonstrate knowledge of their patients' spiritual needs.
Scholars have emphasized the importance of emotional and social reinforcement in establishing a successful convalescence in addition to physical therapies. The patient may feel better after socializing with friends and family. A supportive family and friend network may reduce somatic and psychological pain associated with poor physical health. Furthermore, having access to spiritual guidance may provide the framework for hope and composure in the face of difficulty.
I also find the discussion around the patient's perspective to be really fascinating. Understanding the patient's beliefs and values might help in determining the therapeutic approach. Some people can see their illness as a sort of punishment, but others might embrace a more upbeat outlook of sanguinity and submission. A person enduring medical treatment may commonly find comfort and strength in their belief in a higher power (Harrad et al., 2019). To provide the best possible treatment, healthcare professionals must make the appropriate modifications to accommodate various belief systems and beliefs.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the complexity and depth of the readings related to the subject at hand. Understanding the patient's viewpoint and their spiritual needs is important since it helps us understand the underlying nature of mankind and its ethical implications, as well as how diseases are studied and their treatments. We are able to provide our patients the best treatment possible because to the amazing advancements in medical technology throughout time. Recognising the value of emotional and social support is essential since both may be beneficial to the healing process.
