Another facet of the relationship between mental illness and religion is illustrated by the man's decision to endure two exorcisms and seek assistance from a local church. Rituals and practices for dealing with alleged spiritual or demonic forces are included in many religious and spiritual traditions, and they can provide consolation to people going through upsetting symptoms (Cook, 2021).
